We are looking for a Biology leader with a strong background in drug discovery to join our rapidly growing team. You will lead a diverse group of motivated and skilled biologists on multiple high-impact projects focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule therapeutics. You will leverage your knowledge and experience in preclinical drug discovery to establish cutting-edge in vivo and in-vitro models and generate critical proof-of-concept data that informs early R&D.  You will work with Enveda drug discovery partners to advance molecules from hit identification to lead, and eventually clinical candidate status.  You will help build a future competitive and sustainable portfolio of drug discovery projects.  You will report to the VP, Drug Discovery or CSO/CEO and work closely with other members of the Enveda leadership team to deliver first-in-class clinical candidates and novel validated targets for unmet medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Do whatever it takes to rapidly advance new medicines to patients.
  • Work with the Enveda Leadership Team to build a high-quality global research organization.
  • Increase the value of Enveda Biosciences by identifying inflection points and rapidly guiding projects there.
  • Help connect Enveda to leaders in academia and industry to build valuable partnerships.
  • Develop new preclinical strategies for advancing promising therapeutics to the clinic.
  • Mentor and develop scientists in your line.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify new disease/project opportunities to maintain a viable and sustainable pipeline.
  • Develop scientific understanding and fluency of the innovative Enveda platform and work closely with the platform team to identify new disease/project opportunities that can be translated into new pipeline projects.
  • Clearly communicate the status of projects, challenges, results, and proposed paths forward across internal and external stakeholders, teams, and timezones.

Candidate Must:

  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Work well within a fast-paced, dynamic, results- and team-oriented start-up environment.
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit resourcefulness to do more with less in a startup environment.

Key Skills & Capabilities:

  • Ph.D. in a biological science or related discipline is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in drug discovery research, working with cross-functional partners to deliver small molecule clinical candidates is required.
  • Mid or Large-Pharma experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and/or lead a team of drug discovery scientists.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience in liver diseases, inflammation, neuroinflammation is a plus.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Python Developer responsible for delivering and maintaining several web scraping packages and libraries.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain processes and resilient data architecture to scrape web content
  • Maintain data accuracy and quality
  • Identify and rectify any issues with breaks
  • Support downstream data processes including cleaning, normalization and enhancements

Objectives:

The research associate position will support the expansion of in-house capabilities to build a biological platform that will add to our growing database of plant-based therapies. You will help us deliver on making drugs inspired by nature by using your plant cell and/or human cell culture experience to scale standard assays. 

  • Work in collaboration with other scientists to design and implement assays across multiple indications
  • Experience with high throughput techniques including liquid handling devices and use of 96, 384, and 1536 well plates.

Objectives:

The Lab Director will support our expanding research and team across chemistry and biology (in vitro and in vivo) teams. You will help us deliver on priority initiatives as well as provide strategic support to our teams and key stakeholders to optimize execution of our experiments with our suppliers. More specifically, you will:

  • Managing general and function specific consumables inventory; including ordering and restocking supplies and determining reorder thresholds
  • Optimize and oversee inventory management systems for lab consumables and provide solutions for efficient ordering, supply tracking, and seamless restocking
  • Coordinate communication with all external vendors for pricing, purchasing, instrument demos, and installation/maintenance visits
  • Managing lab equipment; including service contracts, preventative maintenance, calibration scheduling and regular cleaning of incubators, biosafety cabinets, water baths
  • Establish and enforce environmental health and safety policies and maintain and coordinate hazardous and biohazardous waste management
  • Implement procedures and overall hands on responsibilities for the general maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory facilities
  • Coordinating deliveries inside and out of labs; including liquid nitrogen, CO2 deliveries, and biohazard waste removal, sharps removal, satellite waste removal
  • Interact with building management to ensure proper support for lab facilities including HVAC, vacuum, electrical, and plumbing
  • Collaborate with internal Data Sciences team and stakeholders to optimize a sample and storage management system for tracking discovery samples, cell banks, and purchased reagents
  • Coordinate and manage best laboratory practices to allow for continued efficiency
  • Plan and institute laboratory functional design for future lab spaces

As Lab Director you will contribute to multiple therapeutic programs and platform development activities by supporting the day to day activities necessary to support laboratory operations. You will leverage your lab experience and knowledge, plus your ability to communicate with project leaders and vendors to ensure projects across our drug discovery pipeline are operating smoothly. You will also be in charge of safety and lab facilities.

 

 

Experience:

  • M.S. or Ph.D in molecular biology, biochemistry, or other related field.
  • 5 years of laboratory management/supervisory experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or academic laboratory setting
  • 5 years of experience managing a research lab with in vitro and in vivo drug development experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing a molecular biology research lab.
  • Experience with procurement of laboratory supplies from abroad into India.
  • Working knowledge of regarding EH&S matters and regulations in India.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across multiple functions
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change initiatives
