At Enveda, we not only value the internal partnerships among our scientists, we also believe those lasting relationships are essential to the speedy delivery of novel medicines to patients. We have built a drug discovery team of biologists, chemists, bioinformaticians, and data scientists who are full-time employees and part owners of Enveda Biosciences. Spanning three continents and six time-zones, we are all united by our purpose to deliver new treatments, and hope, to every patient.
Aren assembles & organizes Enveda’s various data streams. He studied machine learning at the University of Wisconsin and has spent time working in a microbiology lab. Outside of work, he looks forward to being in the front row at metal concerts and plasma cutting his next desktop tower.
Biswapriya B. Misra
Biswa brings in a decade of experience in metabolomics, multiomics, and phytochemistry in relation to understanding metabolic processes in diverse organisms of biotech relevance. Prior to joining Enveda, Biswapriya was an Assistant Professor at Wake Forest School of Medicine, NC, where he led metabolomics and multiomics projects in several funded NIH grants (U54, U19, R01s) and is author of 70 peer reviewed scholarly publications, and handful of patents. When not working, Biswapriya likes to spend time with family, cooking and singing!
New Product Planning Associate
Brooke earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Butler University and is a licensed pharmacist. She has 9 years of experience in direct patient care in the community pharmacy setting. At Enveda, her role in New Product Planning aims to evaluate market potential and identify the best opportunities for product success, while bringing a clinical perspective to the team. Brooke enjoys trips to the beach, trying new restaurants, and watching Butler basketball (Go Dawgs!).
VP Drug Discovery
Bryan joined Enveda after spending >25 years in big pharma drug discovery (Searle, Eli Lilly), where he led multiple cross functional drug discovery efforts, many of which culminated in clinical candidates for oncology, endocrine and pain indications. He has published > 50 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and is an inventor on > 30 U.S. patents. Bryan is also an Adjunct Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he teaches multiple drug discovery topics. He serves on the Editorial Board of Burger’s Medicinal Chemistry, Drug Discovery and Development and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Medicinal and Bioorganic Chemistry Foundation. Bryan enjoys photography and hitting the links.
VP Data Science & Engineering
Prior to joining Enveda, Chris built software and led teams for over a decade, working with clients across a multitude of verticals ranging from startups and non-profits to Fortune 100 companies. His software projects have been featured on some of the top development news resources such as Y Combinator and Cooper Press. Chris has also served as a technical advisor for several startups in Colorado area. In his free time, he enjoys playing music and hitting the slopes.
Daniel develops network-based algorithms focusing on drug discovery applications. He received his B.S in Biotechnology at the University of León (Spain) spending a year at the University of Wisconsin. He then received his M.Sc and Ph.D in computational biology at the University of Bonn (Germany) prior to joining Enveda. In an academic capacity, Daniel also works at Fraunhofer SCAI and has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications. In his free time, he enjoys triathlon as well as playing chess and tennis.
Chief of Staff
After receiving his Ph.D in Molecular Biology at the University of Utah, Dan founded and served as CEO of T3S Technologies, Inc., leading business and science teams. Prior to joining Enveda, Dan had consulted with numerous start-ups and was an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Utah. During his free time, Dan enjoys playing music, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Goutam brings more than a decade of industrial and academic experiences in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and assay development in basic biology, molecular diagnostics and drug discovery. After completing his PhD from University of Calcutta, India, Goutam moved to US initially as a Postdoctoral Fellow and later as an Assistant Professor at Florida International University, Miami, where he led multiple projects focused on infectious diseases and host-parasite interactions and authored several peer reviewed research articles and book chapters. In his free time Goutam enjoys spending quality time with family, cooking, driving on mountain roads and angling!
Director, Translational Biology & New Product Planning
Hannah combines more than a decade of translational biology experience with commercial strategy. She received her Ph.D. in Human Genetics in parallel with an HHMI-sponsored Master’s in Clinical Investigation at the University of Utah, allowing her to specialize in translational models of human disease. Hannah then served as a project team lead at Recursion, taking compounds from platform identification through preclinical studies while also serving on cross-functional teams focused on platform innovation and business development. In her free time, she adventures in the backcountry with her partner Tyson, and her dog, Milo.
Sr. Research Associate
Harsha completed his Masters in Pharmacology and is an alumni of the Indian Institute of Science. Before joining Enveda Harsha worked at Piramal Enterprises Ltd and Jubilant Biosys on various in vitro and in vivo models for numerous diseases. In his spare time, Harsha likes to spend time riding and exploring new places or in the kitchen learning new dishes.
Joe received his BS in Electrical Engineering and Quantitative and Computational Biology at Princeton before receiving his PhD in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado. Prior to Enveda, Joe worked and consulted for >10 biotechs in San Diego and Colorado and co-founded another exciting drug discovery company, Plexium. In his free time, Joe enjoys traveling and building cool new toys.
Kiran is an experienced chemist, having spent over a decade at various CRO’s and therapeutics companies in India. At Enveda, Kiran is a key part of our synthesis team to drive our SAR studies. Outside of work, Kiran is an aquarist with two aquariums of various fish species. He also enjoys playing an occasial game of cricket.
Krishna completed his M.Pharamcy in Pharmaceutical Analysis from GITAM University. Prior to Enveda Krishna has worked with Pharma and Wellness companies like Apotex Research Pvt. Ltd., The Himalaya Drug Company. Krishna’s expertise lies in chromatographic method development and method validation for raw materials, plant extracts and finished products. Krishna likes to travel to exotic places and spend time with family and friends.
Matt joined Enveda after 20+ years as part of drug-discovery teams at BMS & Regeneron, contributing to the discovery & development of four life-saving antiviral drugs. Matt brings in experience at every stage of the drug development pipeline, from Early Discovery through Pre-Clinical and Clinical Trials. In addition to Infectious Disease Drug Discovery and Development, he has also made contributions to projects in Neuroscience, Oncology, and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is an avid reader of Science Fiction and his main hobby is Landscape Photography.
Scientific Co-Founder & Chair of SAB
Pieter is a leading metabolomics researcher and pioneer of groundbreaking mass spectroscopy databases and tools. Pieter is also a Professor at the University of California – San Diego, where he serves as Director of the Collaborative Mass Spectrometry Innovation Center, and Co-Director at the Institute for Metabolomics Medicine.
As part of the in vitro team, Pooja contributes to validating new hypothesis in our pre-clinical studies. Pooja received her Master’s in Biotechnology from University of Mumbai, India, and worked on assay development at a molecular diagnostic startup in Bangalore, as well as a research assistant at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research. In her free time she loves doing volunteering activities and choreograph semi classical dance forms.
Ramani Modukuri has 18 years of experience in the area of Natural Products isolation and synthesis, leading to ~20 peer reviwed research papers. She brings unique expertise working on special natural products such as hispolones (of which she is also a co-inventor on a process patent). Collaborates with Scientists around the world( Taiwan, USA & Austria) Co-inventor of a process patent on hispolones. Documentation and literature mining is special area of expertise. Outside of the lab, she enjoys dance and culture, especially when portrayed by children.
Associate Scientist - Lab Manager
Ramkrishna did his Ph.D and post-Doctoral work in nanoparticle based cancer immune therapy. Before joining Enveda, Ramkrishna was part of the R&D team at Farcast Biosciences where he worked on patient turmor 3D culture models. In his spare time, Ramkrishna is a talented artist who likes to make greeting cards.
Ramu accelerates our plant extraction process as a member of our Chemistry team. In his spare time, Ramu enjoys a good game of cricket.
Santosh completed his Ph.D. at the National Centre for Cell Science on cancer stem cell biology and has seven years of research experience in the fields of cancer stem cells, oncology, tumor-stroma interactions, cancer metastasis, and signal transition. Santosh joined Enveda as a Research Scientist on the Biology team and is responsible for developing immune system models for drug screening. He enjoys visiting natural places and spends his free time with family and friends.
Sonika takes care of HR & General management at Enveda. She holds an MBA from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. She has previously worked with Lumax Industries Limited in the corporate HR Department. She has overall seven and a half years of experience. Outside of work, Sonika enjoys spending time with her family—especially with her loving and adorable nephew, Mannan—watching movies, strolling along the beach, and listening to music.
VP Synthetic and NP Chemistry
Subbaraju brings four decades of experience in the chemistry of Natural products and synthesis. He has published over 160 research publications and has more than 30 patents to his credit. Some of the successful products of his innovations are: 5-Loxin(R) and PteroPure(R). He successfully trained a number of doctoral students and led large scientific teams across companies he started or help grow. With unique expertise in API synthesis and ingredients development honed across 3 continents, Subbaraju enjoys learning about financial management and investments outside of leading the Chemistry Division at Enveda.
Vaishali recieved her Master’s in Microbiology from MSU, Baroda and worked at IISER, Pune for 8 years before joining Enveda. Vaishali brings her experience in cell culture and various cell and molecular biology techiques, including 3D culture model system to Enveda where she works as part of our in vitro team. She is an avid reader and enjoys cooking and baking.
Founder and CEO
Viswa founded Enveda after leading cross funtional teams across innovation, product strategy, and translational biology at Recursion Pharmaceuticals. He holds a Ph.D in immuno-oncology from the University of Wisconson-Madison, where he developed new therapeutic agents for the treatment of prostate cancer. When not thinking about or working on Enveda, Viswa enjoys reading, racquet sports (of any kind), and household chores provided he can get started.
Yogesh is Enveda’s in vivo lab specialist, running critical pre-clinical experiments. He received his masters and PhD in Pharmacoinformatics from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali and the University of Vienna, Austria, respectively. Yogesh continued his postdoctoral studies to screen novel cognitive enhancers using Preclinical models of Learning and Memory in Vienna and Cambridge, UK. When not working, he likes to spend time with family, watching travel shows, cooking, and making stitching cards.
